ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The interdisciplinary conference is focused on the study and the use of advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies in contemporary art.
The conference precedes the exhibition DAEMONS IN THE MACHINE, organized by LABORATORIA in collaboration with The Moscow Museum of Modern Art which will take place from October 4 till November 11 2018 at MMOMA (25, Petrovka).
As a result of the production division of LABORATORIA (Incubator Laboratoria Аrt & Science), a robotic neuro-installation Borgy&Bes by the Austrian artist Thomas Feuerstein will be presented for the first time at the conference. The installation is created in collaboration with the Robotics Lab of the National Research Centre “Kurchatov Institute” and The Neural Networks and Deep Learning Lab of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
KEY TOPICS OF THE CONFERENCE
· Where is the line between art and scientific research?
· What is a new aesthetic for the new technological age?
· What new results can collaboration between art and science achieve?
· Is there art beyond the limits of human cultural practice?
· What is left for us? What cannot AI do?
